Designing Luxury Studios & Listening Rooms for Musicians

The Problem: Your Room is Fighting Against You

šŸ”Š

External Problems

Standing waves that muddy your mix. Rattling vents that ruin your take. Exterior noise bleeding through walls.

You spend thousands on gear, but the room itself destroys what you're trying to create.

😤

Internal Frustration

The frustration of knowing your high-end speakers could sound better. The disappointment when your perfectly tuned instrument sounds wrong in the room.

You know something's not right, but you don't know how to fix it.

šŸŽµ

The Room Should Disappear

A great listening room or studio should vanish when the music starts. The room shouldn't fight the music—it should enhance it.

Most rooms work against the music instead of for it. That's the real problem.

The Musician's Builder

I know the heartbreak of a perfect take ruined by a noisy room.

I have spent the last 40 years as a musician. I play guitar, bass, drums, and keys. I know what it feels like when the inspiration strikes, you hit record, and the sound just isn't right.

But I have also spent the last 50 years in a different world. Coming from a family heritage of master craftsmen, I've spent my life in high-end remodeling and custom millwork. I've built luxury interiors for some of the most demanding clients in Florida.

For decades, these two lives—the Musician and the Builder—ran parallel. Then, I realized there was a gap in the market.

The Gap:

Audio integrators know electronics but hate construction. General contractors know construction but think 'acoustics' just means gluing foam to a wall.

The Bridge:

At JPC Unlimited, I bridge that gap. I use Chief Architect and CAD to design rooms with precise acoustic geometry. I use my millwork experience to build custom diffusers that look like art. And I use my background in audio engineering to ensure the final result is a room that disappears when the music starts.

I don't just renovate spaces. I tune them.

The Plan: How We Build Your Perfect Space

1

Design

Full 3D rendering with Chief Architect and CAD. See your studio before we drive the first nail. Precise acoustic geometry calculated for your space.

You'll see exactly what you're getting, in three dimensions.

2

Build

Old World craftsmanship meets modern acoustic physics. Custom millwork that looks like art. Silent Shells engineered to perfection.

Every detail is built to last, and built to sound incredible.

3

Tune

Audio engineering verification. The room disappears when the music starts. Frequency response, decay time, isolation—all dialed in.

When you hit play, you'll know it's right. The room won't fight you anymore.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is this different from just hiring a contractor?

Most contractors know construction, but they don't understand acoustics. Audio integrators know electronics, but they hate construction. I bridge that gap. I speak both languages—the language of load-bearing walls and permits, and the language of frequency response and decay time. Your room will sound as good as it looks.

What does "Silent Shell" mean?

A Silent Shell is a room engineered for acoustic isolation. It's not just soundproofing—it's a complete system that prevents exterior noise from getting in, and prevents interior sound from getting out. It's the foundation of any great studio or listening room.

Do I really need 3D rendering? Can't we just build it?

The 3D rendering isn't just about seeing what it looks like—it's about ensuring the acoustic geometry is correct before construction begins. It's much easier (and cheaper) to adjust angles and dimensions in a CAD file than to rebuild a wall. Plus, you'll be able to "walk through" your space before we start, so you know exactly what you're getting.

What's the typical timeline for a project?

Timeline depends on the scope, but typically: Design phase (2-4 weeks), Build phase (6-12 weeks for most studios), and Tune phase (1-2 weeks). Complex projects can take longer, but you'll have a detailed timeline before we start.

Can you work with existing rooms, or only new construction?

Both. I've transformed existing rooms into world-class studios, and I've designed and built from scratch. Every space is different, and every project is custom. Whether you're renovating a basement or building a new addition, we can make it work.
